YogaKids: Educating the Whole Child Through Yoga is a comprehensive, playful program designed to support learning, movement, and emotional well-being all at once.
Created for parents, teachers, and caregivers, it introduces yoga as an engaging tool for helping children grow physically, mentally, and creatively.
The book includes more than 50 carefully selected yoga poses presented with clear, step-by-step photographs and paired with activities that build verbal, spatial, and artistic skills. Poses are grouped into memorable themes—such as calming exercises, imaginative play, and active movement—making them easy to use in both structured lessons and everyday moments.
At the heart of the YogaKids approach is a simple but powerful idea: children learn best through movement and exploration. Drawing on theories of multiple intelligences, the program integrates yoga with music, art, language, science, and storytelling—turning each pose into an opportunity for broader development.
Designed for adults and children to use together, YogaKids encourages a shared experience of movement and learning. Children discover that exercise is fun and empowering, while adults gain tools to support healthy development—making this an enduring resource for families, classrooms, and wellness programs.

Marsha Wenig was a pioneering educator in the field of children’s yoga and the founder of YogaKids International, one of the first comprehensive programs dedicated to teaching yoga to children. A certified yoga instructor and graduate of the “Yoga for the Special Child” program, Wenig combined her background in education with her passion for movement to create an innovative, play-based approach that integrates yoga with creative learning.
Over more than three decades, she taught and trained educators, therapists, and families around the world, helping to establish yoga as a widely accepted tool for children’s physical, emotional, and cognitive development. Her YogaKids program, influenced by educational theorists such as Howard Gardner, has reached children in classrooms, studios, and homes across dozens of countries and continues to shape how yoga is taught to young learners today.
